Final Days

Writer's picture: pacpac

In just three days I had up to Perth and then the next day Singapore for a sleep-over, then KL and finally Kathmandu late Friday.

This is really no more than a bit of a test post. The only technology I'll be taking on the trek will be camera and phone, so I'm now playing with making blog posts from the phone (rather than the computer) to make sure it works OK.

But I do also have to say that I was very chuffed yesterday to receive from Mingma Norbu Sherpa, PhD, Chief Executive Officer, Himalayan Trust Nepal, a note that said:

Dear Peter,

Namaste.

I have the pleasure to extend you this invitation for celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the first ascent of Mount Everest. This invitation also has the programme schedule of various activities that are going to take place in between 26 to 2nd June 2023.

Looking forward to meeting you soon in Khumbu.

Attached to it was the following:

Pretty cool, huh?

Next post probably from Kathmandu ...
